...on a side note, I want to interject some truth serum against the faulty reasoning of the "child abuse" claim mentioned a in the last chapter, that the Word of Faith use regarding sickness in the body of Christ. In order to explain the point I wish to make, let me say this: I don't really own my children, they are on loan to me from God, because according to him, all souls belong to him. Do you agree? I hope so, because that is what Scripture says (Ezek. 18:4). So, if I abused them either verbally, or physically, then I am responsible not only to God, but also to the civil authorities God places over me. This holds true for property items, as well. For example: If I so chose to slaughter an animal that I owned outright (I own chickens), then no charges would be filed against me in regards to theft, poaching, or animal cruelty. But, if I were to catch and kill an animal that someone else owns, or hunt in a public forest out of season, then I would be in big trouble with the law. Do you follow me so far? Good.
Therefore, because God owns every soul, whether they love and follow him, or not, he sets the rules that govern our world, so as supreme creator and owner of all things, he reserves the right to do whatever he sees fit to that soul he owns, especially if that soul is willfully sinning against his commandments. I can't stress that enough. God owns everyone and everything in this universe, that means he even owns Satan. The word of faith minions try to teach that God is under Satan's authority and he needs us to have any say so in this world. Yeah! They are THAT CRAZY blasphemous. They embody what Paul said in 2 Timothy 3:5, they have a form of godliness, but deny the power there of, we are then commanded to turn away from them, not join them. But, the body of Christ isn't immune to this kind of spiritual plague. Opposed to this nonsense, in reality, the Bible tells us that what ever we have is on loan to us, we don't really own anything outright, we are a steward of it, that is why we are all accountable to God for our own souls, because we don't really "own" ourselves.
So, since we now know why we are accountable to God, then the next logical question is: "Who is The Almighty accountable to?" The answer is: No one! Unlike the fantasy that the Word of Faith minions have imagined, that they and their real Lord, Satan, are in complete control, not God. So, let's review: God owns everything he made, we are subject to him so if the Almighty wants to kill one of us, or make one of us sick for sinning against him, then who does he have to answer to? No one, especially not Satan, Kenneth Copeland, not even you, or me. That's the Bible truth!
I can recall when I first came across this false teaching, I don't remember the exact day, but I was listening to Kenneth Copeland many years ago where he was emphatically denying God his dominion over all his creation. He claimed that Adam, through his act of "high treason," gave Satan complete dominion over the earth and that God's hands were legally "tied", meaning he had no say in what was about to unfold. Amazingly and shamefully I bought this sorry bunch of bad reasoning, but not before I bitterly fought it. That fight is a good reaction, but over time if one consistently accepts bad reasoning, and false teaching, then this fight reaction will lessen and then cease, your conscience will become seared as with a hot iron. And so, yeah, I remember being angry that I had thought God was in complete control, now this self proclaimed "prophet" of God was saying that he wasn't? What the..., right? Because the Bible is correct in its assessment of these fools, that they wax worse and worse, or pile lie upon lie, not content with that lie, he then wove another tall tale by saying God needs us (his creation) to give him the legal right to operate in this world. And there you have it, their false teaching in a nutshell...God is beholding to us and our positive or negative confessions!
Now, as to the subject of people who rightly know that God has the right to correct them via sickness, but then go to the doctor -- this is when people like Kenneth Copeland haughtily ridicule that person for fighting against God's will, if they go to the doctor, knowing God is trying to correct them with illness. But, let's not be scoffers like Kenny C. Instead, let's be good Bereans. Let's see if what Kenny C. says, is so. If the sickness is indeed brought upon them by God in order to correct them, then truly, no matter how much treatment they receive, they will not get better, even though naturally speaking, they should get better. However, God never forbids us to seek help while we are under his correction, either from a doctor, or preferably, seeking help from him. Why? Well, because the whole point of the sickness is to turn the sinner to God in repentance, to make them seek his face and inquire of him. Then, God reserves the right to either mercifully heal them, let them remain sick for a reason, or to kill them anyway. Word of Faith's view of sickness is that it is solely a curse from Satan and it is always a bad thing, but this mentality is wholly skewed toward faulty human reasoning, and not proper biblical exegesis.
The Bible warns us to not call things that are evil, good and things that are good, evil, does it not? Well, that warning is meant to be viewed from God's perspective, not ours, and that particular instruction from our Lord is in the middle of other "woes" against drunkenness, the mockery of God's prophecies (not false prophecies), and the self deceived. How apropos, no? Look, no one (except a hypochondriac) likes to be sick. Being sick sucks! But if that sickness brings about a change of heart, the very thing God meant it to accomplish, then in his eyes, yes, that sickness is a good thing, not an evil thing. Chew on that bitter pill of truth for a while. Both the Old and New Testament teaches that discernment is required BEFORE laying hands on sick people, for this very reason. The righteous, spiritually discerning, and mature Christian, must first learn from the ill person and/or God, what is going on with regards to this person's situation, BEFORE any attempt is made to pray for the sick person. Jesus did this very thing many times. Sometimes he asked the sick person some questions before he healed them, sometimes they spilled their guts to him on their own, either way, some insight was gained as to their situation before healing came. Sure, Jesus is God in the flesh, and he already knew what was going on in the person's life before he questioned and then healed them. But, the disciples didn't really know that, and he is our example, we are to follow his instructions and methods, not claim his godhood, or make assumptions upon his grace based on our feelings of what we think is right. By claiming that ALL sickness is evil and of the Devil, the Word of Faith bunch teaches you to scorn the correction of God, even though it is well documented in Scripture that God uses sickness and disease as a highly effective way to correct and discipline his children. Find out what happens to you if you try to teach a Word of Faith minion that truth, it won't be pretty.
So now, let us apply some common sense, and the word of God, to what the Word of Faith Bunch teach about sickness. My question regarding their false teaching is this : "If the person who is rebuking and binding the Devil and his sickness, dies as a result of not going to the doctor, or not receiving what they believed, then who or what was that person really rebuking and binding?" There are only two choices. Was it Satan, who should have fled, or was it God inflicting just punishment for the purpose of repentance? And I would like to point out that in Scripture, God says that he is the one who makes the seeing and the blind, the lame and the mute [Ex. 4:11], not Satan. Are blindness and being mute good things? Not to us, but God has his reasons for bringing these ailments about (as seen in John 9:3). He also says that he wounds and heals, and that he kills and brings to life, and no one, including Satan, can save anyone from his hand [Deut. 32:39].
Why would an all loving God wound, or kill someone, isn't that 'bad'? Well, that depends on what you think is bad, compared to what God says is bad. Now consider this - there is some-thing God never seeks form us: our council [Isa. 40:13-14]. He also says that escapes from death belong to him, and that he will wound the head of his enemies, or the one who still goes on in his trespasses [Ps. 68:20-21]. That means he decides who lives and who dies in regards to certain life threatening situations and sins. He decides, not us! So how would these minions answer me? They'd probably start ridiculing me, saying I don't know what I'm talking about, or wrest some other Scriptures, or threaten me with cancer for daring to "touch his anointed." Their avoidance nonsense doesn't change the truth shared here from the Bible.
So, I ask you to be honest, does the God of Scripture, the one who can mess you up, sound like the one the Word of Faith bunch preach about? No. The God they teach about is a benevo- lent sugar daddy. A Lovey Dovey Jesus that only wants all his children to live long, in complete health, and to prosper financially, and have the nerve to tell him what to do. But the God they preach about also happens to be the biggest failure in the Bible i.e. he lost his first created man and woman to sin. Then they point out that God's son died on the cross as a failure, etc... Yes, that's right dear reader, they have the nerve to teach that God is subject to men and Satan, because they claim The Almighty lost all his rights to his universe when Adam committed "high treason." They truly seem convinced of this, but is God? Does the Almighty agree with them? Well, let's go to the Scriptures and see if what they say is so. In the book of Gen. 3:14 when God is doling out punishments to the three sinners (Adam, Eve, and Satan) this clearly means he is still very much large and in charge. If there is any doubt of this fact in your mind, then God says that he is the supreme Lord and God of all his creation in every single book after that (except Esther), all the way up to Rev. 22:21. Was God in denial when he said this stuff? Not hardly. This simply shows that Kenneth Copeland and Co. are deceived and unskilled in the Scriptures, and are adept magicians of the doctrines of demons. Hello? Are you still with me? I know this is all very shocking, but it is true.
Okay, now that I have set the record straight about God's authority, that God does in fact use illness to teach his children to repent and to stop sinning....I'll be moving on....where was I?
Oh yeah...The night when Jesus scolded me!
Therefore, because God owns every soul, whether they love and follow him, or not, he sets the rules that govern our world, so as supreme creator and owner of all things, he reserves the right to do whatever he sees fit to that soul he owns, especially if that soul is willfully sinning against his commandments.
